Canadian Electroacoustic Community (CEC)

An organization of composers doing sound works. They have a good web site which includes sound works, and also do a CD series called disc Contact! Their links section will direct you to a lot of interesting sonic places, including the extensive CEC Soundwalk pages.

Musicworks

For more than twenty years, MUSICWORKS has provided readers worldwide with artists' perspectives on the exploration of new and possible music and sound -- sounds as yet unfamiliar to (most of) our ears. Articles cover topics from music's relationship to society, through discussion of musical creators, to commentaries on sonic phenomena.

New Adventures in Sound Art (NAISA)

A Toronto based group that works in sound and radio art, including the Deep Wireless, Sound Travels, and Soundplay events. Darren Copeland, Artistic Director.

The Radio Art Companion

The Radio Art Companion was prepared by NAISAwith the intention of shedding some light on the sound works being presented during the "Deep Wireless" event in April, 2002. Article subjects include Radio Art, Radio Drama, Acoustic Ecology, Soundscape and Electroacoustic Composition, and Soundwalking.

The World Forum for Acoustic-Ecology (WFAE)

Founded in 1993, is an international association of affiliated organizations, and individuals, who share a common concern with the state of the world soundscape as an ecologically balanced entity. Members represent an interdisciplinary profession engaged in the study of the scientific, social, and cultural aspects of natural and human made sound environments.

Canadian Association for Sound Ecology (CASE) - CASE is the Canadian chapter of the WFAE.

Soundsite - An online journal of Sound Theory, Philosophy of Sound and Sound Art.

The Jack Straw Foundation - Exists to foster the communication of arts, ideas and information to diverse audiences through audio media. Interesting artworks on line. Based in Seattle.

Resonance 104.4 FM - Resonance 104.4fm is London's first radio art station, brought to you by London Musicians' Collective. Poses the interesting question: Why isn't there a museum of modern art for sound in the same way as there is for the visual arts? And tries to answer it.

Hildegard Westerkamp

Hildi is a Vancouver based composer who has had a great influence on many young artists and soundscapers. She was the first artist in redidebce selected for the Full Moon Audio Art Camp.

Andra McCartney

Andra is a sound artist living in Montreal and is also an artist in residence for Full Moon Audio Art camp. She has an extensive collection of sound links.

Penn Kemp

As performer and workshop leader, Penn has performed in arts festivals around the world, giving readings and workshops, often as writer-in-residence. Thanks to a 1999 Canada Council grant in the Spoken and Electronic Word pilot program, Penn has produced a CD-ROM/audio CD of her performance pieces: On Our Own Spoke. Several of these sound poems are mounted on her web site.

New American Radio

Really interesting radio productions out of the States, distributed by satellite to stations in the American public radio system. It is also distributed by tape to stations without satellite facilities. Many NEW AMERICAN RADIO works are available on artist's CDs.

Cyclops Press

A publishing company out of Winnipeg which does audio poetry among other things. Some poems are online in Real Audio and they accept submissions.
